Edixon Rodriguez is a Venezuelan comic book artist. He fell in love with comics at an very early age, learning to read and draw at the same time. Since then hes dreamed of drawing comics. Even though he’s never won any contest, Edixon has taken it upon himself to take a fundamental roll in the modern movement of comics in his country. He still resides in the place of his birth with his wife, Yenny, his son, Josue and a mountain of comic books.
Which creators are inspirations to you?
In my early days it was Tom Grumett and George Perez. Then Todd McFarlane, Michael Turner and Humberto Ramos. Currently my biggest influences are Mike Mignola, Eduardo Risso, Craig Thompson, David Rubin, Frederik Peeters and the great Brazilian twins Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba.
What is your favorite part of drawing/coloring?
Creating situations and characters with whom readers can relate to. Its drawing life itself.
I chose comics for the love of comics. For passion and for it to become a powerful mean of expression and creativity.
Favorite comic of all time?
The graphic novel, Blankets. Craig Thompson is great.
Favorite comic movie of all time?
Worst comic movie?
Do you listen to music, watch a certain show or are you in silence when you draw/color?
It depends on the time in history your drawing. It also depends on my mood. Most times though I listen to music while I work, but there are also moments of silence. There are a lot of factors.
