After long days holding back the armies of teenage malice, Jodie can be found holed up in a blanket fort writing scripts and sketching to keep the enemy at bay. Jodie just completed her first project, Dysphoria, with Landon Franklin and is currently developing another story with Eric Watkins.
Which creators are inspirations to you?
Nearly everything I read or see leaves a little piece in me, but I would have to say Matt Fraction, David Aja, and Fiona Staples are among my favorites in comics.
What is your favorite part of writing?
Torturing characters and having no one to answer to for it.
Comics allow so much more than novels or art alone; there’s more to branch out on, more to give a reader.
Favorite comic of all time?
Either Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye or Grant Morrison’s Batman & Robin.
Favorite comic movie?
Blade II or Priest.
Worst comic movie?
Batman & Robin.
Do you listen to music or watch a certain show or are you in silence while writing?
I typically listen to soundtracks for things like Skyrim or Lord of the Rings, though toward the end of the script it tends to get things like Iron Maiden or Oomph into the mix.
